Jackson Oil Co.Jackson Oil Company was formed in the mid-1940, just after World War II, by two very determined and successful individuals, Billy and Etoil Jackson.

Billy proposed to Etoil on their second date while he was filling up a car that she was riding in with some friends.  They eloped to Texarkana to tie the knot and had to come back and start working because they didn’t have enough money for a honeymoon.  This marriage of 57 years was ended with the death of Billy Jackson on December 25, 1994.  Until her passing on June 18, 2002, Mrs. Jackson still continued to put the family business first, coming into the office daily and running errands frequently.

Jackson Oil Co.Billy was in the Navy and would send his paychecks home to Etoil, who would put them in the bank for safekeeping.   When he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he built his first truck stop on Highway 67, later known as the old Dallas Highway.  He sold gasoline, wiped windshields, checked air in customers tires, performed oil changes, and fixed flats from before sun up till after sun down for $1.00 a day. He had one bobtail that appears in pictures to be a 1940's model, which carried a steel tank on the frame.

The Jacksons had one daughter, Patricia.  She made their life complete and filled it with the utmost happiness every day.  She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and later attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Interior Decorating.  While attending college in her last year, there was a gentleman by the name of Charles Burge that began courting her. Charles, a native of Alvin, Texas, served four years in the Air Force and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. At the time Charles met Billy Jackson he was a sales representative for Ideal Cement Jackson Oil Co.Company out of Austin.  One of his stops was Ever Ready Concrete Company in Mt. Pleasant where Billy Jackson was one of the owners.  After a lengthy conversation Billy informed Charles that he had a daughter who was in her senior year at the University in Austin.  After a few months of dating, the two were married in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Charles joined Jackson Oil Company with Billy Jackson in June 1963 with a weekly wage of $126.00. Jackson Oil Company was incorporated in August of 1968.  Charles ran the company from 1968 - 1981 when he and Pat acquired the outstanding stock and became the sole owners of Jackson Oil Company.  Charles and Pat were married 36 years and had two sons, Charles Jr. (Chuck) and Bill. Charles, Sr. passed away June 24, 1999, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.  This led to Chuck operating Jackson Oil on his own.  Dr. Bill Burge is a family practitioner in San Antonio. Chuck and his wife, Teri, achieved a life-long ambition when they purchased Jackson Oil in June 2006.  Upon losing his most valuable mentors, his granddad and dad, Chuck continues to put the customer first, hauling fuel whenever and wherever necessary.

Jackson Oil Co.Jackson Oil  has grown from one bobtail that had normal deliveries of 400 – 600 gallons, to a bobtail that now delivers up to 4500 gallons and three transports that are capable of delivering 9100 gallons each.  Billy Jackson started out with undying determination to succeed, and three generations later the company sells over a million gallons a month compared to the 10 - 15,000 gallons in the 1940's.

We currently purchase fuel from three different terminals, which includes about 15 different exchanges.  We also buy and sell small and large quantities of Chevron, Fina, and Shell oils, lubricants, and greases from quart size bottles to 55-gallon drums, and bulk deliveries of 500 gallons or more are available.  The primary delivery area includes the 150-mile radius of Mt. Pleasant. Jackson Oil encompasses six full time employees Monday through Friday, while fuel deliveries are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Jackson Oil Company has grown into a strong and prosperous business, of which Billy Jackson and Charles Burge, Sr. would be proud of today.
